On this day fifty years ago, the first
interscholastic game of ultimate Frisbee was played. The game was played between two New Jersey high schools in the parking lot at Columbia High School (Maplewood, NJ) on Saturday
November 7, 1970; Columbia High School (CHS) Varsity Frisbee Squad won 43-10 over Millburn High School. The game was played
in the evening at the faculty parking lot where it was
lit at night.
Nearly two years later, the
first collegiate ultimate game was played on November 6, 1972.
