San Francisco Revolver Updated Logo

San Francisco Revolver - a club ultimate team since 2006 - updated their team logo. Revolver's new logo was quietly unveiled in time for the USA Ultimate U.S. Open in West Chester, Ohio.

new logo via USAU team page
Based on the team's name, my best guess is the ragged circle in the middle of the shield is a moon phase. Without context, the blue round image looks like Pac-Man on meth.

[UPDATED 7/2/2015]
Two other ideas from readers on Revolver's logo:
1.The dark blue orb is "Death Star"-ish via Sion Scone.

2. The negative white space is an outline of the San Francisco Bay, via Eli Neugeboren.

You know which bands would allow flying discs that their concert?? Weezer and Daft Punk.
