"My friend Stephen and I entered the contest together, and contacted everyone we could — our families, our soup cooperative, even our ultimate Frisbee team," said Halpern. "It was a true team effort."
The grand prize winner was selected by earning the most "likes" across all owned photo submissions uploaded to the DC Circulator page. The winner needed to submit at least three daily photo entries to qualify for the grand prize.
