D.C. Breeze are now (7-4) on the season with tonight's win and in second place of the East Division, 1.5 games behind Toronto.
These two American Ultimate Disc League franchises both started in the league on the same day, April 20, 2013. The Breeze hosted Toronto at a day game played at Anacostia High School. DC would go on to lose its next 10 meeting against the 3-time East Division Champion, Toronto Rush.
In 2016, D.C. Breeze have lost to Toronto twice by the slimmest of margins; 1 goal on April 23 and 1 goal on April 30.
It's been 1,1141 days (3 years & 1.5 months / 3 seasons 9 weeks) since Toronto started playing in the AUDL. And, tonight is the 1st time an East Division team has posted a win versus Rush — a span of 40 games.
