Today, June 28th, is the birthday of the man - "Steady" Ed Headrick - credited for designing the modern Frisbee; he would have been 90.
Headrick, while working for WHAM-O, submitted the flying saucer patent in 1965, and redesigned it for enhanced flight stability ("Lines of Headrick"). He was a self-proclaimed Frisbyterian. There's also a memorial museum in his name for his amazing career in the disc golf arena.
